A favicon is the little tiny icon that appears next to your blog title at the top of the page, it also appears next to your blog in a bookmarked list, and in the address bar. Mine right now is the little eagle flying. If you have a Blogger blog, your favicon right now is the orange Blogger "B" that you see, its hard to miss...lol.
The first step to getting a new favicon is to find or make an image. You could do this in Paint, Photoshop, Gimp, all fine programs to make a favicon. Personally I use Photoshop...because that's what I have.
I make the image 30px by 30px. The actual favicon will be around 15x15, but that is super small to work with so I double it in order to have a bigger pic to work with. Make your image and then save it.
Next go to Iconj.com. On the right hand side of the page there is a button that says Browse. Click it. Find your image and then click Upload now. After you upload it...it will take a few seconds...it will pop up and say that your Favicon was successfully generated. It gives you two choices. I always use the second choice..which is to host it at Iconj. All you have to do is click on the line of code, press Ctrl A and then Ctrl C and then open up your blog, go to Layout/Edit Etml and look for the end tag of your head section.
It should look like this </head> . ![]()
You want to insert your code right before the end head tag . Click there and press Ctrl V. Click Preview and if it looks ok...Click on Save. Enjoy your favicon!
eta: If you don't want to make a favicon...there are many nice premade favicons to choose from at iconj. I'm sure you can find one that will tickle your fancy....lol!
